Blue Shield Copay

Not all health care services are created equal. A routine visit to your family doctor’s office is much different than a trip to a specialist, so it makes sense that they wouldn’t cost the same. Our plans with tiered copays connect the amount you pay to the type of care you receive.

Federal Blue Cross Copay

The Health Insurance Marketplace, or Health Insurance Exchange, is a federal government website where you can shop, compare and buy plans offered by participating health insurance companies in your area. You can access the Marketplace via healthcare.gov, through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois or by phone.

What does this mean for me?

  • Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is waiving all copays for in-network primary care and outpatient behavioral health visits for Medicare Advantage members from June 1 through the end of 2020. Visits do not have to be related to COVID-19 and can be done in.
  • This is a summary of the features of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan. Before making a final decision, please read the Plan’s federal brochure (RI 71-005). All benefits are subject to the definitions, limitations, and exclusions set forth in the federal brochure.
  • ©1996-Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network are nonprofit corporations and independent licensees of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. We provide health insurance in Michigan.

If your plan offers tiered copays, you’ll find a few kinds of payments when you pay for your health care. The lowest copays will be for office visits to a primary care physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner. If you need to visit urgent care or see a specialist like a cardiologist or an immunologist, your copay will be a little higher. The most expensive copays will come when you visit the emergency room.

What primary care physicians and practitioners are in the lowest tier of copays?

There are many doctors and practitioners with a primary care specialty. An office visit to any of the following kinds of health care professionals will be in the lowest tier of copays:
