Update for Mac VPN Client

Feb 26, 2021 Look for the Cisco folder and open it; Then double click on Uninstall Anyconnect to start the uninstall process; Follow instructions to uninstall VPN program; Here's the procedure for manually uninstalling the AnyConnect client from a Mac OS X system. As root, run the following shell script from the Terminal.
- Installing the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client. Note: Use the Safari browser when downloading this software. Download the Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client installer for Mac. Enter the CougarNet credentials. Click Download for macOS link to download the software. Click Allow.; If you get a DMG file double click the file, which is located in Finder/Downloads.
- To connect to Cisco AnyConnect follow the instructions in Connect to AnyConnect VPN for Mac OS X. Installing Cisco AnyConnect for macOS Click on the Download button under the AnyConnect for macOS (Recommended) section on the Downloads & Guides page.
- Mar 16, 2021 The Cisco AnyConnect VPN allows you to connect to Mason networks allowing access to restricted services as if you were on campus. To connect to the VPN from your Mac computer, you need to install the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client. The following instructions are for computers NOT on Jamf Pro (Mason Self Service).

On 1/9/2021, University Information Technology Services and Support will be releasing an upgrade for the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.

Cisco Anyconnect Vpn Client Mac Os X
The latest version of the Mac operating system (Big Sur) is not compatible with the current version of the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client supported by UIT. Even though Big Sur is not yet supported by IT Support Center, users have already upgraded to it or have purchased a new Mac that has Big Sur on it and those folks are currently having issues using VPN. In order to provide service for these new and upgraded Macs, UIT is upgrading the VPN client for Mac users.
Here’s what to expect:
Cisco Anyconnect Vpn Client Mac
When you launch your Cisco AnyConnect VPN client on your Mac after 1/9/2021, you will receive a notification that your Cisco AnyConnect Client is automatically being updated to the latest version. Allow the client to automatically update your software to the latest version, and then use as normal. No further action from you should be required after the upgrade has been completed.
Cisco Anyconnect Macbook
If you are running the client on another computer that is not a Mac, the client will not be updated.
